General Information

Our Annual Junior Exploration Day will be held on the afternoon of April 23rd. At this event, Juniors will attend a variety of sessions to explore the various career options available to them post high school. Sessions will include speakers from local employers, colleges, military branches, apprenticeship, trade programs, and more!

Attention Juniors…ACT Scores are now available.  Students must log into their MyACT account to view their results. 

Enrichment Opportunities

Applications are now open for the Miami Summer Scholars Program. This is a selective two-week program that provides a rich, early college experience for academically talented, rising high school juniors and seniors from across the globe. Students will get a glimpse of life on campus as they dive into a specific academic program with faculty and other students who share their interests. Deadline to apply is May 1. Lindner Summer Institute (LSI) is an overnight program for rising juniors and seniors that introduces students to various business disciplines while also providing guidance and support for the college admissions processes. LSI is hosted by Lindner's undergraduate admissions and community engagement teams. This event will take place Sunday, June 8 - Wednesday, June 11, 2025 and students must commit to participate in the entire program, including staying overnight in the residence halls. Students should apply by April 18 for priority consideration. Students can learn more & apply HERE. 

Mercy West Hospital is offering A Career Exploration Day on Wednesday, April 16th from 9:30-11:30AM. This event targets junior and senior students with an interest in the medical field. Students will have the opportunity to discuss career paths, explore various departments, tour the hospital, learn about volunteer/shadow opportunities, and participate in hands-on activities. Enrichment Opportunities Continued...

Lindner Business Immersion Camp (LBIC) is an overnight program hosted by the Lindner undergraduate admissions team that introduces students to a variety of business disciplines through engagements with our faculty, alumni, current students and corporate partners. This event will take place Sunday, July 13- Wednesday, July 16, 2025 and students must commit to participate in the entire program, including staying overnight in the residence halls. Students should apply by May 19 for priority consideration. Students can learn more & apply HERE.

MindPeace has created this list of Summer Camp opportunities. It includes a list of general camps available for anyone to participate in, including youth with disabilities. Summer camps help children build friends, improve confidence, encourage diverse areas of interest, and practice teamwork. Children can also learn a number of skills such as problem-solving, goal setting, assertiveness, leadership, and social skills.

Cincinnati Children’s is now offering job shadow opportunities once a month! More information can be found HERE.

Students will be taking the following Ohio End-of-Course tests this month:

College Corner

Interested in having your college tuition paid for by someone else?  Check out the Miami Work + Program, a great opportunity from Miami Regionals.

The University of Cincinnati’s Upward Bound program is a free program that provides academic skills, social skills, mentoring, and motivation for participating 9-12th grade students to help them graduate from high school and then enroll in and complete post-secondary education. Senior Reminders

Reminder, if you have not already ordered your cap and gown the deadline to order is April 30th.  Visit Herff Jones to order.

Students will receive their cap and gown on Friday, May 2nd during the Senior Brunch.  Students who have not yet earned their 2 state seals, and/or are not in good academic standing will not receive their cap and gown during this event.  If requirements are not met by May, the student's cap and gown will be refunded and the student will not walk in the graduation ceremony.   

All school fees must be paid in order to walk at graduation. These can be paid on your student’s pay schools account. If you have any questions about your student’s fees please email Myia Engleman at  mengleman@nwlsd.org.

Graduation Requirements

For all students in the graduating class of 2023 and beyond the following criteria must be met in order for your child to earn their high school diploma.

  • Earn a minimum of 20 credits in specified subjects 

  • Take the required state tests, and earn a minimum score of a 684 on the Algebra I and English II exams

  • Earn 2 State Identified Seals
